Ömer Faruk YILDIRIM, one of the students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations of our university, has started to receive participant applications between 18-25 August within the scope of the Erasmus+ project (KA-152) named "Do You Know The City You Live In?" which includes mobility between Turkey and France.
Within the scope of the project, the participants' round-trip flight tickets to France, accommodation and morning-evening meals, seminar, workshop and practice trip fees will be covered. Expenses such as museum entrance fees, lunch fees, passport fees, exit fees and personal expenses will be covered by the participants.
Mobility Activities in the Project:
- Within the scope of the project, workshops, seminars, presentations and practical trip activities will be carried out to get to know the cities of Istanbul and Paris from different perspectives such as history, culture, art, socio-cultural structure, science, technology, environment and climate.
- Workshops, seminars and presentations will be held in the mornings, and practical trips related to the topics covered in the morning seminars will be organised in the afternoons.
- The seminars in Istanbul will be held at Ibn Haldun University Süleymaniye Madrasahs.
- Istanbul programme will be 2 weeks and Paris programme will be 1 week. The Istanbul programme is planned to be held between 11 September - 24 September 2023 and the Paris programme is planned to be held in October, depending on the visa processes of Turkish students. (Due to the project budget, the Istanbul programme can be reduced to one week between 18-24 September 2023, depending on the approval of the national agency.)
- Since the Paris programme coincides with the course period, permission will be requested from the university administration in accordance with paragraph 5 of Article 18 of Ibn Haldun University Undergraduate Education, Training and Examination Regulation.
- All activities in the project will be carried out in English.
- Prof. Dr. Suraiya FAROQHI and Prof. Dr. Faruk YASLIÇİMEN will accompany the Paris programme.
The application criteria for the project, which is one of the 74 projects accepted from the world and one of the 2 projects accepted from our country to the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers Programme, are as follows:
- Being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey,
- To be a second, third or fourth year undergraduate student at Ibn Haldun University,
- No international travel restrictions,
- To be between 18 - 30 years old,
- To have high academic success,
- To know English at least at B2 level,
- To commit to participate in all three-week activities of the project,
- To undertake to participate in the "Participant Selection Exam" to be held,
- Interest in urban studies,
- To produce 3 works related to the experiences gained in the project such as essays, articles, poems and photographs to be included in the project report and published on the website at the end of the project (For example, "three photographs", "a travelogue and two photographs" or "an essay, a poem and a photograph" etc.).
- To willingly participate in voluntary work,
- To have the awareness of representing Ibn Haldun University at home and abroad,
- Contributing to the project with the knowledge and skills they have (e.g. social media management for the visibility of the project, photo and video shooting, etc.),
- To commit to be tolerant and respectful to all participants in the group,
- To undertake to fulfil the instructions of the university management and the project coordination team,
- To have environmental protection awareness.

Evaluation Process:
Candidates who fulfil the above application requirements will go through a three-stage evaluation process.
First Stage: Preliminary Evaluation
- At this stage, it will be checked whether the candidates fulfil the application requirements.
Second Stage Participant Selection Exam (Online)
- Candidates who are determined to meet the application requirements will participate in the online exam to be held online by the European Union and UNESCO Project Coordination Office on 29 August 2023 Tuesday at 19.00.
- The questions will be about the cities of Istanbul and Paris.
- They will be prepared by Ibn Haldun University faculty members.
- The exam will take approximately one hour.
Third Stage: Interview
As a result of the evaluation of the exam score, General Weighted Grade Point Average (GPA) and letters of intent, the candidates with the highest score will be invited for an interview and will be interviewed by a commission consisting of Ibn Haldun University academicians, administrative staff and project coordinators.

Letter of Intent: 10
Interview: 10
To have participated in Erasmus+ study and internship mobility: -20 points
To have participated in other Erasmus+ projects of our university: -20 points
