From Research Question to Success: TÜBİTAK 1001 Experience Transfer Program
The “TÜBİTAK 1001 Experience Sharing” event, organized under the coordination of Ibn Haldun University’s Project Support Office and in collaboration with Sakarya University, was held online on February 18, 2026.

The program, held with the participation of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Barış HORZUM, a faculty member of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Sakarya University, addressed the 1001 – Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program carried out by TÜBİTAK ARDEB. The session covered project evaluation criteria, the justification of the original contribution, methodological design, team organization, and the main challenges encountered during the application process.

The presentation also provided a general overview of the 3501 – Career Development Program and other TÜBİTAK funding schemes, while sharing experiences regarding the planning of the research process, the formation of the project team, and the sustainability of project management. Participants had the opportunity to gain practical insights into formulating a research question, conducting a systematic literature review, and defining measurable objectives.

The meeting also touched upon the evaluation and monitoring phases, emphasizing that keeping ARBİS records up to date, carefully reviewing application guidelines, and examining previously funded projects would contribute to application success. The event concluded with a Q&A session, and the practical recommendations shared served as valuable guidance for researchers considering applying for TÜBİTAK funding programs.
