SCOPE AND PURPOSE

The purpose of the call is to support transnational research and/or innovation projects that address urban challenges to help cities transition to a more sustainable economy and functionality.

The challenges are grouped into three themes called 'Pathways': Positive Energy Zones, 15-minute City and Circular Urban Economies.

Supported Activities

Focus on urban area problems and challenges,
Adopting an interdisciplinary and preferably co-creative approach from the early project formulation stages,
Supporting cooperation that goes beyond individual national efforts and towards the sharing, operationalization and transfer of existing knowledge, resources and research opportunities for mutual, transnational benefit.
ELIGIBILITY & TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

Applicants are defined as organizations/institutions/companies (legal entities) applying for funding.

Applicants:

research organizations (universities, university vocational colleges, research institutes or other organizations with research initiatives),
companies and commercial organizations,
city ​​government authorities (such as regional and local government agencies, municipalities and municipal organizations, city authorities, urban public administrations, and infrastructure and service providers),
consumers and civil society representatives (eg, local and community organisations, non-governmental organisations, non-profit organisations, citizen representatives, etc.).
Language Criteria:

You can submit your proposal in any official EU language. For efficiency reasons, it is recommended to use English for the entire application.

FINANCE & RESOURCE ALLOCATION

The total budget of the call is 90,000,000 Euros.
