Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yeliz Bozkurt Gümrükçüoğlu Accepted to a Working Group of the COST ELDA Action
The Working Group application of our Vice Rector and School of Law faculty member Prof. Dr. Yeliz BOZKURT GÜMRÜKÇÜOĞLU, submitted under the COST Action “CA25133 – European Legal Design Action (ELDA)”, has been accepted by the Action’s Management Committee.

Across Europe, the growing complexity of legislation, regulations and contracts makes it increasingly difficult for practitioners and users to understand them and apply them effectively. To address this challenge, ELDA brings together legal professionals, designers, technology experts, policymakers and business representatives on common ground. Drawing on plain language, user-centred legal design and artificial intelligence tools, the Action aims to develop model contract clauses and implementation guidelines. Through this work, it seeks both to make existing regulations more accessible to individuals, SMEs and public institutions, and to ensure that future legislation is designed from the outset with clarity and practicability in mind.

The Action’s activities are carried out through five working groups focusing on foundations, better regulation, better contracts, AI and digital tools, and dissemination and capacity building. The network structure offered by the EU-funded COST Programme gives participants the opportunity to collaborate with experts from different countries, exchange experience and develop new ideas for international projects.

As the Project Support Office, we will continue to provide guidance at every stage of the application process to support our academics in taking a more active role in international research networks and strengthening international collaborations. We sincerely congratulate Prof. Dr. Yeliz BOZKURT GÜMRÜKÇÜOĞLU on this significant achievement, which contributes to our university’s international academic visibility and collaborations, and wish her continued success in her work within the framework of ELDA.
