Society 5.0: Digital Balance, Responsible Technology Use, and Addiction Prevention Support Program Launch Held at Ibn Haldun University
Ibn Haldun University launched the “Society 5.0: Digital Balance, Responsible Technology Use, and Addiction Prevention Support Program” on September 17, 2025, in collaboration with Yeşilay and Başakşehir Municipality. Three projects focused on digital addiction that were selected for support were introduced at the event. The program offers a total of 1,250,000 TL in grant support, with the projects aiming to raise social awareness and combat digital addiction.

On September 17, 2025, Ibn Haldun University, Yeşilay, and Başakşehir Municipality jointly organized a significant launch event as part of the “Society 5.0: Digital Balance, Responsible Technology Use, and Addiction Support Program.” This program supports three projects with the aim of producing innovative solutions against technology addiction and raising awareness about the social effects of digital addiction.

The event began at 2:30 p.m. at Ibn Haldun University's Central Campus. The launch continued with opening speeches by our university's Rector, Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, and Yeşilay President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Dinç. Following the speeches, the supported projects were introduced. These projects aim to raise social awareness in the areas of digital addiction and cybersecurity.

Project presentations included:

  • “From the Virtual World to the Real World: Digital Shadows” project focuses on social integration studies by examining the connections between young people's digital identities and behaviors.
  • “Istanbul Cybersecurity Research” project aims to develop policy recommendations for young people regarding online security by analyzing digital security risks in Istanbul.
  • The “SİMAV Digital Addiction Prevention Workshop” project offers training on preventing digital addiction through workshops for young people at the local level.

The event concluded with a photo shoot with the protocol members. The launch program was recorded as an important step toward developing solutions to the addiction and security problems faced by society in the digital age.

Under the program, a total of 1,250,000 TL in grant support was announced. The first project received 400,000 TL, the second project received 357,000 TL, and the third project received 250,000 TL in support. This program aims to strengthen academic, public, and civil society cooperation on digital addiction and security.

Prepared in line with Ibn Haldun University's “Society 5.0” vision, this program is not only an academic initiative but also carries significance as a movement that fosters social responsibility and awareness.
