The COST EDGE Project Involving Dr. Yasemin Özer Has Been Awarded Funding
The project titled “COST Action 25134 EDGE: Edges of Democracy, Geography & Environment,” in which Dr. Yasemin ÖZER, Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Sociology, serves as a secondary proposer, has been awarded funding.

Bringing together researchers from more than 20 European countries, the EDGE project is carried out under the COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Programme, which is supported by the European Union and aims to strengthen international cooperation among researchers. The COST Programme is regarded as one of Europe’s most established research cooperation mechanisms, bringing together scientists from different countries in joint research networks and promoting knowledge sharing, academic mobility, and interdisciplinary studies. The EDGE project focuses on major contemporary issues such as democracy, social participation, migration, and the environment, and aims to examine local democratic practices and models of social solidarity developed across different regions of Europe.

Dr. Yasemin Özer’s role as secondary proposer in such a large-scale and prestigious international research network is an important indicator of her academic competence and active presence in international research circles. The responsibility she has undertaken in this project, which brings together leading researchers from across Europe, strengthens both her contribution to her field of research and the visibility of Ibn Haldun University in international academic networks. The representation of our university in one of Europe’s largest research networks reinforces the effectiveness of our Department of Sociology in international research collaborations and serves as a concrete indication that Ibn Haldun University is taking an increasingly strong place in global academic partnerships. This development, reflecting our university’s research-oriented vision, demonstrates that our academic sphere of influence at the international level continues to expand.

Ibn Haldun University continues to support the high-quality work carried out by its researchers at the international level and to make scientific production visible on a global scale. We congratulate Dr. Yasemin Özer on this important achievement and wish her continued success in her work.
