 2209-A - University Students Research Projects Support Program

Grant support is provided for the machinery/equipment, consumables, travel and service procurement expenses required by the research projects prepared by the associate and undergraduate students/students studying at universities. As of 2020/2 period, conference participation, publication and patent costs cannot be included in the project budget.

Applications are made online to http://e-bideb.tubitak.gov.tr. In order to complete the application, it is sufficient to approve the application through the system. After the application is completed, there is no need to send a signed copy of any document to the TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Presidency. Documents sent to BİDEB by post will not be processed and will be destroyed.

 Research projects are supported for a maximum of 12 months. Support recipients must complete their project within one year at the most, following the announcement of the support decision on the TUBITAK website.

As of 2020, the maximum support amount is 4,000 TL.

Whether the applicant is studying for an associate or undergraduate degree*,

The fact that the project is carried out under the guidance of an academic advisor**

Not being involved in more than one application in the same period and/or in a 2209-A or 2209-B project that has continued support in previous periods,

It is required that no support has been received from TUBITAK for the same project before.

Students can apply to the program individually or as a team. In case of applying as a team, one of the students is responsible to TÜBİTAK as the Project Coordinator. A maximum of 3 project partners can take part in a project other than the project coordinator.

  • Open Education and preparatory class students cannot apply.
  • ** Research assistants can be academic advisors. Research assistants studying for a combined doctorate must have received a doctoral qualification to become an academic advisor. It is not required to have received the qualification for research assistants who receive post-graduate doctoral education. In both cases, research assistants must obtain approval from their advisors. Research assistants studying for a master's degree cannot be academic advisors.
  • Students can apply to the program individually or as a team. In case of applying as a team, one of the students is responsible to TÜBİTAK as the Project Coordinator. A maximum of 3 project partners can take part in a project other than the project coordinator.
